Walks
Grades of Walks:
A – Mountain walk, usually with more than 600m (~2000ft) of ascent.
B – Moorland walk, usually with more than 300m (~1000ft) of ascent.
C – Mainly pastoral walk usually with less than 300m (~1000ft) of ascent.
Grades may be followed by a ‘+’ or ‘-‘ sign and perhaps a comment in brackets:
‘+’means that the walk is more strenuous than usual for the grade of walk, due to difficult terrain or more ascent than normal, or, in the case of ‘A+’ walks, some degree of technical difficulty, difficult scrambling or exposure.
‘-’ means that a walk is easier than usual for the grade of walk. ‘A-’ walks use less difficult routes.
Members’ participation in any walk is subject to the discretion of the leader.
