For 2024 we have an exciting camping season ahead with two camps planned.
2023 was an excellent year, with good weather and well organised camps. Our members enjoyed a week at Whitby where we explored the Cleveland Way and North York Moors, and our September break at Hope camping along the River Noe with delightful walking in the Derbyshire Dales.
Thank you to all members who contributed to the success of these camps.
For our week’s break in June this year we’re planning a holiday at Barmouth within the Snowdonia National Park, based on the beautiful Mawddach estuary with the Rhinog and Cadair Idris mountain ranges offering excellent walking and views. We’re planning to have circular walks as well as linear walks including a train ride!
In September we’re camping at Birchover situated in the beautiful Peak District. Expect stone circles, pretty Derbyshire villages, a stately home, strange rock formations, historical features galore, lush green river valleys and stunning panoramas. Another excellent camp to look forward too.
One particular feature of our camps is “Happy Hour” which is a favourite with our members when they relax, enjoying tea and cakes together on the campsite after a day’s walking.
These events are truly fun, organised with walks led by experienced leaders – it’s no wonder we have increasing numbers, particularly on the campsite and under canvas. So if you have a tent, caravan or motor-home you’re welcome to join us.
Just another example of the benefits of being a member of Chester Rambling & Hill Walking Club!
