We arrange social activities throughout the year, but the main programme of events runs from October to April, when we host a range of guest speakers fortnightly on Tuesday evenings on a wide variety of topics.
Christmas activities include our party night, with festive food and an entertainer. Another highlight is the Christmas meal out after a walk in December – something to brighten a cold, dark evening!
The club President’s Dinner is a key annual event in January, where we all enjoy a lovely evening out somewhere special.
The New Year is the start of our spring events, which may include a Ceilidh, a river trip on the Dee, a Quiz Night, and a group dinner in a local restaurant.
Our social activities are a great way to meet people in the club you might not otherwise see and for long-time members who are no longer able to participate in walks to catch up with those of us who get into the hills regularly. Our social activities also present an opportunity to meet wearing something other than hiking gear for a change!
Events are held at the St Mary’s Centre, St Mary’s Without-the-Walls, Handbridge CH4 7HL and other venues by arrangement.
Full details are in the current programme.
